Pew shows Internet not a leading source for local breaking news with adults
A report released in September by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism and Internet & American Life Project grappled with adult media consumption habits when it comes to keeping up with local news. The results may be surprising to Internet addicts, as TV and newspapers still proved to be major sources that compete with websites and in many cases beat out Internet sources as go-to references. The Internet was neck-in-neck with newspapers for adults 18 and over looking for local information regarding housing, jobs and schools. It even turned out to be the destination of choice for adults looking for information on local businesses, restaurants and clubs.
